EU POLICY DIALOGUE on PROTECTED AREA, LANDSCAPES, and WILDLIFE

The EU publication, Larger than Tigers, highlighted the ASEAN Region’s natural capital and provided valuable status updates and analysis in support of a strategic approach to curbing environmental degradation and biodiversity loss in the region. This publication will be featured in the policy dialogue together with the Chiang Mai Statement of ASEAN Ministers Responsible for CITES and Wildlife Enforcement on Illegal Wildlife Trade 2019.
This policy dialogue aims to bring together members of the ASEAN Working Group on Nature Conservation and Biodiversity (AWGNCB), ASEAN Working Group on CITES and Wildlife Enforcement (AWGCITES-WE), the ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting on Transnational Crime (SOMTC), the EU Delegations in ASEAN, and other development partners in ASEAN to discuss different efforts of the AMS in protected areas/ASEAN Heritage Parks management, halting species extinction and sustainable financing for parks.
