AHP6 SESSIONS
AHP6 Parallel Break-out Session 6: Sustainable livelihoods and Biodiversity-based Products
23 October 2019
9:00-12:00
Lanxang Hall, 1st floor, Champasak Grand Hotel
This session will showcase how the value chain approach was used as a tool to establish sustainable livelihood projects from biodiversity-based products near buffer zones of ASEAN Heritage Parks (AHPs) through the ACB-GIZ Biodiversity Based Product (BBP) Project implemented from March 2015 -June 2019 in Lao PDR, Cambodia and Vietnam. The BBP Project’s direct beneficiaries will be invited to recount their experiences as implementers of the BBP value-chains introduced and impacts of these approaches in their socio-economic conditions and/or conservation activities in the area. Other related approaches for implementing biodiversity-based livelihood interventions within and surrounding areas of PAs/AHPs will likewise be featured in this session.
